Dance Rules and Etiquette
1. Be on time dressed in the proper attire. Repeated occurrences of improper attire will result in the student observing class, rather than participating. This will be enforced!
A. Black leotard
B. Pink Tights
C. Correct dance shoes (combination classes always begin with ballet). Please put all shoes in a bag with your child’s name on it. Write your child’s name in dance shoes!
D. Hair must be pulled up and away from the face.
2. An instructor will call the students to class. At no time should a student enter the dance rooms before class time. If a student or parent needs to see an instructor, they should wait until classes change or the attendant at the Pro Shop will request that the instructor come to the lobby. Students are asked to sit in the lobbies, not stand in front of the doors to the studios.
3. No gum, drink, or food is allowed in the studios.
4. Practice proper hygiene. Bathe and use deodorant daily.
5. Respect your instructor, do not talk when the instructor is teaching or the music is playing. Respect your classmates; talking about, making fun of, harassment of any kind will not be tolerated.
6. Never say âI can’tâ, but instead, âI’ll try.â
7. Practice allowable skills and exercises at home at least three times a week.
8. No running, flipping, or jumping in the lobby, dance rooms, or dressing rooms.
9. Use the restroom before class, especially the pre-school students.
10. Keep your hands to yourself and off other’s property.
11. Help keep the dance rooms clean; avoid putting hands on mirrors and sound equipment, and always check for articles of clothing, shoes, books, etc. before leaving class. Articles left behind are removed daily and put in the lost and found box located by the dressing room. Again, please put your child’s name on bags, shoes, etc.
12. Always wear a HAPPY FACE!
